We began editing our video using the software premier pro. In order to use this software, we had to travel to the local college to use their facilities. We visited the college on two separate occasions to edit our video however, we were soon told we were no longer able to do this due to health and safety concerns. As none of the members in my group own this software, we were forced to find a different program to use to edit the final version of our video together.
We decided to edit the final cut of our video using iMovie. This was a far more accessible for us as there are many Apple Macs available for use in our school. This meant that we were able to edit the video in our free lessons, allowing us more time to make the final changes to our piece. Jasmine also had access to iMovie on her own laptop so this meant we were able to continue editing at home.
I believe that using iMovie was the best way for our piece to be edited as it was far more accessible and also far easier for us to use. I am very happy with the overall product that we have produced and I believe that using the software that we did really had an impact on the overall look of the piece. As the program was simple and easy to use, it allowed us to be creative and take advantage of all of the different effects and techniques that the program has to offer.
When editing, we decided that Jasmine and I would take on the role of editor as we were both familiar with the programme as we had both used it on different occasions previously. We made use of many of the different techniques and effects available on the programme such as the slow motion effect and also the use of black and white. We used these effects in order to make the overall product more interesting and to assist with the narrative of the piece.
